This policy explains how Hyrax LLC d/b/a SBG Tech ("we", "us") collects and uses personal information. You can reach us at support@sbgtech.net.
our two roles: controller and processor
We act in two different capacities, and they are governed differently:
- As a controller for information about website visitors and people who contact us (enquiries, our own marketing, and running our business). This policy governs that information.
- As a processor / service providerfor the data we handle on behalf of our managed-services clients (their systems, accounts, and the personal data within them). We process that data only on the client's instructions under our services agreement and data processing addendum, and the client is the controller. If you are an employee or customer of one of our clients, please direct privacy requests to that client; we will support them in responding.
1. information we collect (as controller)
- Information you give us: your name, email, phone number, company, and the contents of any message you send through our contact form or by email.
- Account and onboarding details for prospective and current clients we deal with directly.
- Technical information: basic information your browser sends automatically, such as IP address and pages viewed, used to keep the site secure and working.
2. how we use it
- To respond to your enquiries and provide the services you've asked for.
- To monitor, maintain, and secure the systems we manage for you.
- To send service-related communications (for example incident notices or maintenance windows).
- To meet our legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
3. legal bases
Where applicable, we rely on: contract(to deliver services you've engaged us for), legitimate interests (to run and secure our business and respond to enquiries), consent (for optional communications, which you can withdraw at any time), and legal obligation (to comply with the law).
4. sharing
We do not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We share it only as needed with the categories of third parties below:
- Email and communications providers (for example Resend and Google Workspace), which transmit and store messages you send us.
- Monitoring, security, and backup platforms we use to run and protect systems.
- Website hosting and content-delivery providers that serve this site and its assets (for example our hosting provider, Google Fonts, and the jsDelivr CDN), which receive technical data such as your IP address when your browser loads the page.
- Professional advisors (accounting, legal) and, if applicable, a successor in a business transfer.
- Authorities where the law requires disclosure.
Where required, these providers are bound by appropriate data-protection terms.
5. retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. As general guidance: we keep contact-form and enquiry messages for up to 24 months after your last contact with us; client account and contract records for the duration of the engagement plus 7 years for tax and legal reasons; and website technical logs for a short period for security. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.
6. your rights
Where these rights are available to you under applicable law (such as the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, which applies to some businesses and not others), or where we choose to honor them, you may ask to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. To exercise any of these, email us at support@sbgtech.net or use the form on our contact page. We will verify your request by confirming details we already hold before acting, and respond within the time the law allows. If we decline, you may appealby replying to our decision; if your appeal is denied you may contact the Texas Attorney General. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. Requests about data we process for a client should go to that client (see "our two roles" above).
7. security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No system is perfectly secure, but security is the work we do, and we hold ourselves to it.
8. changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version.
